Pathfinder 1E Paizo books on Amazon

Mercurius

Legend
It seems that Amazon doesn't always carry Paizo's books, especially the Chronicles, and at least right when it is released. For instance, I had "Distant Worlds" on pre-order for the last few months and I was just informed that "Due to a lack of availability from our suppliers, we will not be able to obtain [Distant Worlds]."

I can, of course, order it elsewhere, although I have an Amazon Prime account (free two-day shipping) and of course the discount, so I'd prefer to pay <$14 for it rather than $20 + shipping.

Anyone have similar experiences with Paizo on Amazon? Does anyone know why this is?

Thanks!

Amazon has always been quite poor at pre-ordering RPG materials in my opinion. Most pre-orders I have done through them ship later than they would have had I ordered from the publisher themselves. I have found this with other company's than Paizo as well.

Now, given the price, I still sometimes pre-order with Amazon, but I never expect to receive the book as fast as if I had ordered straight from Paizo or other publisher.

They always nail the promised date with the WotC stuff I order, of course that maybe related to carrying a lot of Hasbro products.

It sounds like Amazon is missing the boat on Paizo stuff - maybe whoever orders RPG books is just clueless.

I ended up ordering it from Miniature Market. The book came pretty banged up due to poor packaging, but they gave me a 50% refund so I'm happy. Great book, btw.

Yeah, the pre-order complaints never seem to be as frequent with the WotC stuff. I suspect different distribution methods or perhaps expected volume to be sold resulting in better planning.

For non-WotC books I've had poor results with multiple RPG publishers from Amazon. I'm a big Amazon fan, so don't take it as bashing on Amazon, it has just been my experience with pre-ordered RPG products and Amazon.
