I can't recall what the Prestige Class is called, but there's a 5-level PrC in there for Dwarves (I think) that gives you Craft Magic Arms & Armor as a bonus feat, and gives you a caster level equal to triple your class level for purposes of crafting them- so if there's a Cleric and/or a Wizard in the party, you'd be great at making weapons & armor. It's for Dwarves (I think), but you could talk with your DM for adapting it slightly to allow a Human to take it. It shouldn't be too far of a stretch, in my opinion, since you're limiting yourself by voluntarily taking a more interesting route.
