Paladin: swap Divine Feats for Remove Disease?

Phaedrus

First Post
Proposal: get rid of the Remove Disease ability, and give a bonus Divine feat instead at each increment of the Remove Disease ability.

Is this overpowered? What else should be tweaked to make this balanced?

If there were a Feat ("Remove Disease 1/week"), would anyone take it? Would you consider such a Feat to be balanced against, say, Divine Might?

That would be very, very strong. Paladins are pretty darn strong already. :) I'd allow them to trade Spellcasting for Divine Feats -- one bonus Feat at each of levels 6, 10, 14, and 18 -- but the Remove Disease thing is so weak it's practically just there for flavor.

I dont think 3 or 4 bonus feats for paladins are out of alignment. Paladins are powerful, but the bonus feats would encourage sticking with the class instead of going Paladin 2/X

A divine feat is generally more useful than a weekly use of Remove Disease. Whether it would be unbalanced depends on the context of your campaign, and whether you (or your DM) thinks the paladin class needs more power to make it more attractive.

A couple of years back I designed a list of 1/2 feats that could be taken instead. I've lost the list but I'll compile it for analysis tomorrow.
