[QUOTE="Gundark, post: 2056640, member: 6148"] Well there was a huge thread about this like a few weeks ago...I would run Rifts as d20 future....leave the original rules alone. In the meantime here is some humour about Rifts, and the Palladium system. taken from RPG net 1. Boxing training can help you fire a gun more rapidly. 2. 10% of people are the first born of twins (but nobody's ever the second born). 3. Even the weakest of people can take around 6 rounds from a .22 pistol before collapsing. Tough people can easily take over 15 rounds. Similarly, soldiers can typically survive the shrapnel of a fragmentation grenade and keep fighting. 4. The blast radius of a missle never exceeds 50 ft. - even with multiple nuclear warheads. 5. Sufficiently hard armor will always protect your entire body - even if it leaves parts exposed. 6. The 'Popeye Syndrome' is a actual psychological disorder. 7. Anybody in an auto accident has a 20% chance of being thrown clear and remaining unharmed - even if their seatbelt is on! 8. Acrobatics training teaches a powerful kick attack (Gymkata!). 9. A severe concussion gives a -8 to all skills (thankfully, skills are done on a percentage system). It doesn't affect one's ability to fight, however. 10. An average man can demolish a bus in under twenty minutes using only punches and kicks. 11. Espionage agencies teach their most experienced agents a sophisticated assassination technique to kill a person instantly. Unfortunately, this technique only has an success rating of 5%. 12. A bullwhip is more lethal than a shortspear, javelin, or cutlass. 13. A compact car will always remain drivable after being shot by an assault rifle, nearly always so even if the entire clip is fired into the car. Furthermore, none of the passengers will be injured. 14. It takes 7.5 seconds to deliver a blow. A highly trained martial artist might only take 3 seconds. 15. A person with an IQ of 160 learns skills no better than a person with an IQ of 70. 16. An untrained person in the middle of the wilderness with no first aid kit is better at curing wounds than a trained doctor using a subpar medical facility. 17. If you fire three or less guided missles, a person may dodge out of the way. A fourth missle, however, guarantees that all missles will strike. Never fire less than four missles. 18. A person will be dead or will have recovered by that point. 20. "Rifts is a thinking man's game." 22. White Wolf and Wizards of the Coast comprise 1% of the RPG industry. 23. Nuclear-powered rockets do not leave fallout or pollution. 24. Fascist states post lots of propaganda, even if they forbid literacy to average citizens. 25.
