I agree Dwarven Defender would be a better choice here if you can do it.

And remeber to make sure there is a target painted on both sides of his armor. And name him something like Bob, Dwaren Hostage. (Sorry, play off the old Tiny Toon Batduck cartoons )

Isn't there something wrong with having a prestigious cohort?

I don't mean in a rules kinda way, I just mean morally. After all, the purpose of the cohort is to sorta stay in the background, which is the opposite of prestige.

Also, two members of the party are elves, which would pretty much limit the acceptance level of the dwarf.

On a related note, what would be an appropriate cost for armor that does the following:

+2 enhancement bonus
3/day aggravation command word activated

The aggravation ability should make all enemies pass a will save (DC 20 or so) to avoid immediately trying to attack the target.
