Just moved to Pasadena, CA. and was wondering if there were any gameshops around here that anyone would recommend. The Yellow Pages weren't much of a help.

Thanks!

I moved from S. Pas 9 years ago, but I used to go a place in the Arcadia Mall (Fashion Square?) by the Santa Anita Race Track. Game Keeper maybe?

Hope it helps...I hope you like Pasadena! Family still lives there and loves it.

Welcome to there area.
I live near pasadena.

There is a Game Keeper in Santa Anita Fashion Park (mall) it's near the center on the second floor.
Santa Anita Fashion Park is on Huntington Dr and Baldwin Ave.

There is also The Game Zone on colorado.

I think there is also a Game Keeper and a Games Workshop store in the Glendale Galleria which isn't too far from pasadena.

Game Zone seems to have the biggest selection.

There are also several Comic book stores in the area but they don't really carry game stuff.

Game Zone

Welcome to Pasadena - I live in South Pas now, but close enough...

I recommend Game Zone on Colorado as well. They're really the only "full service" shop around. They've got a decent selection of d20 stuff, a bunch of old 1E and 2E D&D stuff, GURPS, LOTR, most other RPGs, Wargames & miniatures, and of course TCGs. They also have an okay selection of wargames and even some family/party games. There's also a pretty big computer gaming section in the back that always smells like sweat and stale pizza.

The one down-side is that the store is not very well lit or organized, but that's kind of the fun of it - whenver you find what you're looking for, you feel like you've discovered something that no one else knew was there.

The Borders on Lake Avenue between Del Mar and California also carries some D&D and d20 (mainly SSS) stuff.

For a bit of a drive to the north-east, you can try Last Grenadier in Burbank http://home.earthlink.net/~danielc/tlg.html

I personally wouldn't bother with the Game Keeper - their selection of d20 stuff is almost non-existent.

For the drive, the Last Grenadier doesn't have much more then the Game Zone.
The Last Grenadier has more (alot of) minis and some old games and books.
It's main thing was minis in the first place.
But if your not into minis, save your gas money.
Back in the day the Last Grenadier was the greatest Gaming store of all time!
It used to be about 6 times the size it is now.
Man those were the days.
But there lease got to expensive and they moved to their current location (it used to be a chain - but I think the burbank store is the only one left)
It's enough to bring a tear to your eye. :(

Hey there, I grew up and spent most of my life in Pasadena, even worked and managed the local game store for a bit. Well, sadly the one that is no longer around.

The Game Zone is the closest to you down on Colorado Blvd across from a Pavilions or Vons( More on the east side of Colorado) and the Last Grenadier is in Burbank and is farther away. Both cool though.

I bet you will find everything in the Game Zone.

Thank you so very much for your help!

I'll be checking out the Game Zone just as soon as I get over my massive culture shock that is the LA area. It's just so BIG and CROWDED. I love it, but it can be a bit intimidating at first. I've been here for about a week now and it's not so scary anymore. :D

Again, thanks for being so helpful.

Mystic Eye: Are you being washed away by all the rain, too. I just moved from San Antonio and my parents, family and friends are all in danger of being washed away by all the rain.
