Pathfinder 1E Pathfinder Basic: What should it be?

Did anyne ever see the Two Worlds d20 game? It was a tiny little D&D variant, stripped down to the very essentials. The core game can get very small if you want it to be!

Check it out.

I hadn't see Two World before, but took a brief look through the PDF. Looks like a good start to trimming down a game system to its basics to make for a relatively quick start and intro to a game. Thanks for the link.

TBH Red Box looks to me like a silly waste of money. There are two possible outcomes from buying it:

  • You will not like it, and you've wasted 20 bucks
  • You will like it, and need to buy core book - you've wasted 20 bucks

You are neglecting another possibility: You can buy the box as a gift and that person likes it and the money is not wasted.

I would like to be able to do this right now (or for Christmas).

My suggestion for a basic box set would include the following:
1) A slim-downed ruled book covering 5 levels of at least the four base classes (fighter, cleric, rogue, wizard) and four races (human, elf , dwarf, halfling).
2) A module akin to Crypt of the Everflame
3) A set of dice and (if possible) preprinted paper miniatures
4) A certificate good for the download of a Core Rulebook PDF
5) A $30 price tag
