OGL rules, a game that matches up with what alot of people consider to be D&D, famailarity with the rules, and wizards of the coast being so ambiguous that no one (not even their loudest cheerleader, Clark/Orcus) sure if there's going to be any kind of license for D&D.  Wrap all that up and you've got the makings of a solid 200 lb gorilla.  No its not going to go "head to head" with the 800 pounder in the corner, but the game isn't designed to do that; its designed to provide a game for those that want more life out of their 3.5 products.</blockquote>
