Pathfinder- Friendly switch

Hello, I am playing a phalanx soldier who uses a towershield and mobile feats. Our group has levelled up to level 7 and I was thinking about taking the Friendly switch feat so I could consistently deploy the towershield in front of enemy to defend ally behind (mobile fortress feat). Does anyone have experience with this feat? Is it a wasted feat slot to pick?

Never tried it, but it seems like a cool but potentially niche trick to protect an ally. It's mostly useful against single enemies who want to be in melee, but I'm sure you'd come up with clever uses.

Like, here's a weird one. If an ally needs to reach an enemy to make an attack (or if the party healer needs to reach a wounded ally) and their movement is 5ft. short, you might be able to move in a way that switches them the distance they need. Might make effects to increase your speed extra useful.

That said, if there's a swarm of enemies, they'll just go around you.

Thats a good point about using it to move allies for additional speed. I think I will take it to test if nothing else.
