Its a little complicated, basically Luck has a standing grudge against the Japanese (from what I understand, due to historical stuff) and see's Japanese cultural elements from the space (e.g. fantasy samurai/ninja and stuff) to be racist against other Asians, so was using the concept of Orientalism to try and police users on the sub who were hoping for explicit support for those kinds of characters-- we have precedent for this kind of thing from a bunch of cultures so the request wasn't weird at all in context. They tried to interpret self-representation in Japanese created fantasy being used as inspiration as being similar to "I can't be racist i have friends who are X." They made some weird conspiracy comments about Ninjas being invented by white people in the 1960s, and went really hard on Samurai being evil (which yeah sure, but not more than other kinds of aristocratic warrior class types) in a way that was pretty clearly being used as a proxy for some other sentiments. They also made some off-color comments denying Irish oppression on the basis that the Irish were white, and did uh, not appreciate other Asians chiming in about disagreeing with him, and removed a post for asking about how to run a game set/inspired by the Sengoku period of Japanese history. I've seen other users alluding to anti-hispanic sentiment in their posting history, but I don't recall having seen it first hand. As far as we can tell, they were essentially using the Orientalism stuff as a cover for their specific feelings regarding the Japanese and an excuse to make talking about fantasy from that culture able to be moderated as racism.
