Message: <blockquote data-quote="Obryn" data-source="post: 4887463" data-attributes="member: 11821">I don't expect to play or run Pathfinder, and don't know of any groups around here who are keen on it...  I may check it out, after reading reviews from those who aren't already convinced. <img src="https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/joypixels/assets/8.0/png/unicode/64/1f642.png" class="smilie smilie--emoji" loading="lazy" width="64" height="64" alt=":)" title="Smile    :)"  data-smilie="1"data-shortname=":)" />I don't fully expect to play or run 3.5 D&D again for quite a while, but if I do, I think I'd stick with 3.5.  Many of my players already have 3.5 PHBs, and the ruleset is more or less free, online.  There are also still plenty of electronic tools to support it, even though 4e is the high water mark in that regard.I think the cost of the game is what would get me, here.  It would take a lot of convincing for me to essentially re-buy a rule set I already own.  It would take even more convincing for me to try and persuade my players to shell out $50 (or whatever the discounted price is at Amazon) for a book they'd only need half of and for rules they mostly already have.  (I really, really prefer any books around this price range to get split into DM and Player books, even if the two books together would cost more.  I'm fine spending a few bucks extra in order to save my players a lot of money in the long run.)-O</blockquote>
