They released the Kingmaker Video Game. And many people like it. Pathfinder online the game was way to ambitious. With an MMO you need to start smaller and keep adding features as updates. I'm a Software Engineer, and when I saw the list of feature for the online game, I knew they were biting off more than they could chew. It's a lot harder to make a quality MMO than it is to write a book, and Paizo is a publishing company so really didn't know what they were getting into. But making smaller games is the perfect way to be able to make an MMO in the future as you will have an experienced team and some reusable code. I personally think Paizo needs to make a site that does what D&D Beyond does only for all their games. That will make it much easier to play Pathfinder and will get many more people into the game. I know there's HeroLabs, but that's pretty expensive just to be able to have a character you can take past level one it's $35. And There's no digital version of the content you buy, so you are basically buying multiple copies of the same book to have one to read and a character builder. Additionally the search feature on D&D beyond makes it much easier to DM, there is not content to even search on Herolabs, plus I like to be able to read the books digitally on my phone while I'm waiting around for things. D&D Beyond has made it very easy for people that have never played a tabletop RPG to get into D&D, every new player I see uses it.
