Hi all, I've got a paying opportunity for an artist to help with the launch of a new dark fantasy oriented website. As I've been lurking on these boards for some time now, I thought I'd post the call here first. (also crossposted on RPGNet) My name is Joe Nassise and I'm a horror/dark fantasy novelist. Pocket Books just bought my new dark fantasy series The Templar Chronicles and I will be putting up a new website in the next several weeks to help support the series. I'm looking for an artist who is willing to do a few pieces for the site - I need a picture for the main entrance, as well as a few smaller pieces for some of the secondary pages. The Templar Chronicles is a series that deals with the modern Templars operating as a militant arm of the Vatican, tasked with protecting mankind from the supernatural. The central characters are a small combat unit of four men, led by Cade Williams. As a result of a chance encounter with a supernatural entity known as the Adversary, Cade lost his right eye, his wife, and his child. He also developed some peculiar abilities of his own, including the power to see into the realm of the dead and the ability to read psychic impressions from objects, forcing him to wear gloves at all times to protect himself from the random thoughts and emotions we all leave behind through our touch. I'd like to see a main image with Cade as the center character and the other men of his unit crouched around him prepared for battle. I also need an image to use as a banner on top of all the site's pages, and another image of the Adversary. At the moment, I cna pay for each piece, though not exorbitant amounts. You should also be aware that I expect the site to get fairly good traffic in the next year, as Pocket and I will be promoting the series fairly well. In addition, the promotion and success of my debut novel from 2001, RIVERWATCH (also being re-released as a mass market paperback by Pocket in 2003 and being made into a feature film by Media Entertainment) should drive traffic to the site. Which means your name and work should get some attention. For an example of the type of main image I am looking for, check out my current site at www.josephnassise.com. (I can no longer reach the artist who did that one and am looking for someone to take his place) For the type of banner image I am looking for to run on all the pages, check out the site of fellow author Tim Lebbon at www.timlebbon.com. Obviously, the banner needs to have something to do with the Templars - maybe their logo, their motto, whatever. Interested parties can contact me at author@josephnassise.com. You can also read the first three chapters of HERETIC, book one of the Templar Chronicles at my site, to get an idea of the flavor and imagery I tend toward in my writing. Thanks for the interest and I look forward to talking to some of you. Best, Joe
