PbeM/PbP - Writing Style?

Cor Azer

First Post
Just out of curiosity, for those who participate in PbeM or PbP games, do you ever change your writing style to suit the genre/themes of the game?

Most of my games are delivered in a fairly straightforward manner, but I've done 3 experiments, two of which are on-going:

1. A supers game, using a B&W page-a-day webcomic-ish thing. Only lasted about 3 updates before everyone got too busy

2. My current Buffy game here at ENWorld - written as if it's a TV script

3. My ASoIaF game here at ENWorld - written with an alternating cast of PoV characters, like GRRM's books.

Have you ever tried or seen such? Would it add or detract from the game in your mind?

I like number 3, but for the most part, I'm helping to tell the players' story...So it would seem a bit weird I think telling everything from a third party's perspective. It might be interesting for intermission scenes, or for showing the players the effects of their actions, but it seems like it might get a little contrived for every day play.
