Eye Spy Something Squamous After sitting for awhile a guard will come in and signal Captain Bal. He looks to Lord Swifthammer and then to you and says, "The honor guard is ready." Captain Bal and Lord Swifthammer lead you out of the tavern and through the halls of the redoubt to the southeast. You pass the miner's quarters before arriving in a small entry hall with a double-barred iron door in the south wall. A group of four dwarves in full ceremonial arms and armor stand around by two others who wear a standard guard outfit and halberds. You may notice they are all members of the winning pratice team. Lord Swifthammer greets them all by name before looking at you. "We now head into our family mines. Nothing out there should be any threat, these inspections are more a matter of tradition. Plus every now and then even a stuck fellow like me needs to get his hands dirty!" Lord Swifthammer laughs deeply. The door is opened and you exit into a natural cavern that shows signs of mine tunnels go out from it. The two guards close the door behind you and the honor guard and nobles head out, carrying torches. Two honor guards take the front positions and two in the back. Lord Swifthammer and Captain Bal group near the rear guard leaving room for you ahead of them. You are lead by the honor guard into the mines passages. At one point you notice a definate fork in the mine passages as if seams were found both to the north and south. The guards lead you down the south passage. After a short distance down the south passage you notice something strange. Hanging to the ceiling of the mine above you is a disturbing creature. It appears as an eyeball surrounded by a ring of tentacles. You notice several of the tentacle seem to be reaching into the stone of the ceiling. The area around it appears strange. You can't quite describe what is wrong, but something seems unreal about the area surrounding it as if the creature is changing the area it occupies. Ichtor, you would immediately recognize this as a creature of pseudonatural origin. You are unfamilar with it specifically but you believe it fills in a parasitic role in the Far Realms ecology. Though the creature is out it the open the dwarves are unable to see it. You can conclude that, in fact, the dwarves are completely unaware of it's existance even though it is only a short distance from them. As you approach the creature, it makes no move and offers no threaten action, content to do whatever it is that it is currently doing. Any actions?
