PCGen, 3.5 Psi, and UA

I've decided to take another look at PCGen. It looks like it's been cleaned up a lot in the last couple of releases. I'm looking for a couple of specific things, though. I've done some Googling and checked both SourceForge and CMP websites. Either I'm challenged or what I want just isn't there. Hopefully, someone 'round here can help.

  1. Has anyone done support for 3.5 Psionics, yet? Pay or free? I use these as a major plot point in my campaign.
  2. I'm having a hard time adding equipment. This isn't handled by the editor. Anyone have some experience, here?
  3. Are there any mods that use the spell points as implemented in Unearthed Arcana? How would one go about doing so?
  4. What about class defense bonuses? Is there a way to have these stack with armor for Fighters, but not for other classes?
  5. Something I'm totally clueless on is how I would go about setting up my own recordset. I know there are "custom" files, but I've got two motives: 1) to have something self-contained to distribute to my players and 2) to actually replace the SRD because almost every class has some modification in my game -- armor bonus if nothing else -- and I don't want to have to deal with duplicates.
I've managed to add the Swashbuckler from CW, so I'm starting to figure things out, but I'd appreciate any help on these other issues. Thanks.

  1. I know that PCGen is working on the RSRD Psionics and that CMP is working on the XPH.
  2. What do you want to do? Personally, I prefer doing my *.lst editing by hand. A good site for questions on lst-ese is List File Help
  3. I know some folks @ PCGen are working on UA, but I don't know what they've done. I know UA is on CMP's list of to-do items, but I don't know when they plan on having that out.
  4. Interesting question. Once again, LFH would probably be your best bet for that question
  5. This isn't to hard to do. I know that List File Class has gone into this, so there's another resource for you to use, as well as LFH.
If you have any other questions, I float around these forums.

Thanks. I think I've got 2 and 5 figured out -- finally found the relevant section in the included help -- but I'll have to wait until I get some free time to test them (after work, this is going to be a way-busy weekend).

I'll check out the LFH stuff for #4.

I'm still hoping, though, that someone has at least entered the XPH stuff on their own. Talk about something I'm not looking forward to.

  1. Both of these sources are under construction and should be out in the next month or two from CMP.

If you'd like I can post back here when they're released.
