Does anyone know how to create a new race using PCGen? I have version 5.16.4. It's nearly impossible to find any useful information on the internet, typing in PCGen followed by about anything and you get is the webpage to download the program, and tons of pages about bug fixes, and cluttered boards filled with seemingly random questions.

A) click on the Help menu at the top, click on Documentation. That has a LOT of good information there, like a list of all the tag's included

B) Open the folder that you put PCGen in, and go to Data>homebrew, and copy & paste the files in my_dataset into a new folder labeled for your campaign (ie one of my custom sets is Monster Isle)

C) Read the "how_to_use_this.txt" file

D) Rename the files (ex. my_abilities.lst would become monster_isle_abilities.lst)

E) Edit the files using either Notepad (or bbedit for Mac) or any of the text editors listed here

F) Look at the existing data files for something that is close to what you are looking for and copy and modify to your hearts extent. Post to the PCGen List File Help group if you run into problems. The experienced data monkeys hang out there to help people make their own datasets.

In those files are about 80% of info you need to make
