Greetings, salutations, and welcome. I've decided to start an intermittant series of threads, each one presenting two or more Epic-level D&D 3E characters, related in some thematic way. All of them will be labelled as above, with the "[PCs by Pax]" tag. A few generalities need to be mentioned up front, of course:

Wherever possible, characters will hew to the literal letter of the law (as best I know it) at the time of their creation. Custom magic items will be kept to a reasonable minimum, and will always be priced as ruthlessly as possible.
Attributes are based on the DMG point-buy, with 32 points to spend. Blatant munchkinish min/maxxing will not normally be the rule, unless such is the obvious intent of the character.
I ask that noone else post characters directly to the Theme threads; I don't mean to be a twit or the like, I just want to avoid hijacking, as well as keep all the characters in the same format, and so on. If you have an idea you think would fit in with a themed thread, by all means, email me with the character sheet at gmpax@ispwest.com (just be sure to mention ENWorld in teh subject line, so that you get past my oft-overzealous Spam Filter ... the dreaded "I have NFC who YOU are *delete* or you *delete* or YOU *delete* ...", heh).
And now for a slight detoure through legalese-land: any and all characters posted by me to this thread, or to the Themed threads, are hereby officially declared to be in the public domain, inasfar as names, specific arrangement, history and background, etc. Game-rule content is not mine to so place, but whatever is even remotely arguably "mine", is fully released for public use, misuse, and so on. Characters submitted to me by any means, intended for posting to these same threads, shall be construed to be posted under similar conditions, with similar permissions, by their original author. ... Anyway ... to date, the theme ideas I have thought up, are as follows (in no particular order):

THEME: "The Jokes On You" -- generally humorous, or at least pun-based, character ideas. I only wish I'd thought of this a couple days ago, so I could open with this theme for April Fool's day! So far, I have a pun-based character (with cohort and followers) based on Barnum and Bailey's Circus ... and intentions to work up Dudley Do-Right as a Paladin of Epic stature (and incompetence, heh).
THEME: "Must be This Tall to Enter" -- characters of the smaller races, like Halflings, Gnomes, Kobolds, and so on.
THEME: "Champions of Light" -- semi-generic theme, this'll be for the ultra-good-guys ... non-gag Paladins, clerics of ultra-good-aligned deities, and so on. Good PC material, perhaps.
THEME: "Scourge of Darkness" -- a villain's who's-who of evil, vileness, and downright un-kitten-loving sorts. Great "arch-Villain" material, or so I hope.
THEME: "Sideshow Bob" -- for the truly strange creatures; the oddest manglings I can manage of both race and class, probably involving heavy use of the templates and other options from Savage Species. The stranger, the better, of course ... !
THEME: "Slimy, yet Satisfying" -- perhaps a subset of the above, this will be for characters not only strange, but by nature revolting ... anthropomorphic frogs, Awakened vermin, Insectile-template stuff ... that sort of thing.
THEME: "Schindler's Lich" (with props to this hilarious story by Ab3 on RPG.net's forums) -- Liches, and mummies, and vampires, oh my! IOW, the Walking (un)dead!
Further suggestiosn of theme are, of course, equally as welcome as character submissions. I may even decide to hold an informal contest or two, based on one theme or another (the Joke theme seems highly apropriate for such an endeavor). Now, if you will kindly excuse me ... I have to go make up a epic Bard, his Cohort, and the bard's followers ... in order to present "Bardum and Bay-Leze Circus" under "The Joke's On You" ... heh! At any rate, I hope to have 1-2 characters, minimum, per week, ready to be posted here. No promises mind, as real life can (and inevitably will) intrude ...
