Pdf books

They may not in order to sell more subscriptions to DDI. And I have to admit, I'm not sure I'd buy a .pdf when I have access to the rules compendium, which should be very similar. On the other hand, a searchable and indexed file I could access without logging into the net... if they brought it out before my books arrive, yeah, I'd buy it just for convenience (or impatience, one or the other).

Anyone Knows if Wotc will ever release the 4ed books in pdf?

In an earlier thread, WotC folks said they're working on the details of a contract with someone to provide them, and they'll let us know as soon as the deal is inked. Which should be "Soon".

umm, seriously?

Heck yes. I want official well-indexed DRM pdfs which are at least as usable as the pirated ones.

If they change them to a landscape layout like the recent PDFs on the website, that's cool too, although I do like having the page numbers align.

It would be nice if you could update them as well to remove mistakes, add freely available content and, without the page count restraint, add more clearly defined text to avoid years and years and years of messy sage advice.

exactly - all the errata can be edited within the PDF and available as a free update instead of forcing the customers to print pages of errata and going through it during games.

I could have sworn that, back when 4e was announced, WotC made some sort of a promise that once you bought a 4e book, you'd immediately have free access to the .pdf. Did I imagine this, or is this just yet another empty promise from WotC?
