Hello all,

An artist friend of mine had recently asked about working on a comic together, I would write, letter and color it and he would draw/ink it. He also asked me if I knew anything about publishing, and honestly, the only thing I am familiar with is PDF publishing.

My question to all of you is: Would you be interested in a pdf series of well-written and fantastically drawn fantasy comics (around 20-22 pages per issue), with setting info, character stats, new monsters, races, prestige classes etc... (10-20 pages per issue.)

Please post any comments as well as your vote.

Thanks in advanced.

Count me as a possibly. My hesitation is that I'd definitely want to see the style first; some Art styles aren't to my liking, even if they're well executed. But it certainly sounds like an interesting idea. I'm assuming this would be a for-pay kind of venture...so I'm also interested in knowing what price range ya'll are thinking about.

Would the material be based on the comic? That would be cool.

A preview of some sort would be needed. And waaaay more information ;)

Yes, I would be interested..but like the other responses I'd like to see a 'preview' of some type of the artwork, etc. before making a definite decision.

I really like the idea of presenting gaming material with a fantasy comic.

I'd be interested in something like that. Hero Games (or whatever they may have been way back) used to do that with their Champions comic books. They had the stats for the characters and new powers and rules in the back of the comic books. I always liked that.

No, but only because it's PDF.

The gaming material in a fantasy comic, though, is a great idea. (And I'm still wondering why, to this day, TSR/WotC never did/does that with their novels, other than the Second Generation Dragonlance one?)

Sort of the Pokemon of d20 stuff? ("Look, it's the uncommon Scorching Ray spell! It can fire up to three rays, each of which is capable of frying a riding dog!")

I dunno... could be interesting. Depends on how and what you're selling.

Of course I'd be interested in something well-written and fantastically drawn. I don't know you, so I can't judge, but most people can't pull that off. Does your friend have a portfolio online?
