PDF products?

Anyone know what the current status of PDFs for core books is? And, ideally, timing?

At first, we heard 'get a book, get access to PDF version.' That changed.
Now there's DDI, but that's a general access. There supposedly will be PDF versions of books for sale.

So, um, what's going on?

My guess is that PDF will come only a few months after. I personally think WotC care much much more about its physical books/minis sales and the digital initiative. I think they will miss the boat and pirate version PDF will show up long before any real PDF from WotC.

I'm fine with 'a few months later.' I just have 0 interest in bringing a stack of books to a game, and I don't pirate RPGs. And DDI doesn't interest me.

So I'm stuck with waiting.
