Aw, heck, since we're spoilers-ing.... SERIOUSLY, DO NOT OPEN THIS IF YOU HAVEN'T CAUGHT UP ON THE SEASON. REALLY. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.
So here's the thing- first, I knew that there was something bad about the parallel world (PW). I figured it was, you know, some kind of "government authoritarian fascist" place of a generic sort.... and I had that view ever since the "terrorist" incident (Sons of Liberty). It felt .... real weird, and the reactions and the whole thing made me think, "Yeah, I think that the terrorists are fighting some kind of evil government, and all the 'order' and 'happiness' we see is because is because of that." Also also? Alternate Peacemaker was a REAL DICK (for the brief time he was alive). Also also also? His dad was always a real piece of work ... how did he become a beloved superhero here? It didn't make sense, unless PW had some serious issues. So I kept waiting for that moment when there was the big reveal that PW sucked because evil authoritarianism, and that the "terrorists" killed by Peacemaker (the "Sons of Liberty" .... hello, NAME?) were actually fighting tyranny. And yet. In the last episode, I knew Harcourt was gazing at while they were driving ... and seeing something. And I knew I should be something to, but I couldn't quite put my finger on it. Ugh. I mean, other than a creepy vibe .... which intensified .... until... Welp, we all know now. And in retrospect? OMG. Something tells me that if I rewatch it, I will NOT be able to unsee what I know now. Seriously- I had all the pieces, and even though I knew exactly what was up with his dad, and I had everything else, I still missed the final piece of the puzzle that was LITERALLY RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME THE ENTIRE TIME.
