Having the other two books for it, it was a solid game... One of my Ex-GF's loved it in high school. I found it interesting, but fundamentally, it's mechanically "Palladium done better" ... and a not atypical small press game of the era. The one ahead of its time was Talislanta, and it's clearly where Bard Games' real love lay. The new edition of the Atlantean system lacks the Lexicanium and the Bestiary... the guy doing it licensed only the rules. Apparently not by choice... I have several of these. Hercules and Xena won't hit the table, Red Dwarf flopped with my players, and the difficulty labels made for a bad time for everyone, since they lead to way too much fail. Gorgeous books. {I later found I don't like Deep 7's XPG 2d6 mechanics, I do like their DEEP system, used only in Arrowflight 1e...much nicer-to-the-players math Attribute dice each ≤ (Skill+Diffmod), count successes. more than half 1's, reroll and add more successes plus a critical success; all 6's, fumble. Most of their XPG games work, IMNSHO, better with Deep than with XPG.} Immortal I got in a bargain bin... the writing style left me in head scratching mode. I actually was a player for Dresden Files, rather than GMing. I had a blast. Couple a white court vamp with a rage monster hulk clone... and you have a white court vamp making that monster rage for bonus damage... I had a copy of Skyrealms of Jorune - as rich as the setting materials were, the rules were just a whole charlie foxtrot committed to paper.... Funnily enough, my favored little known old game was Justifiers (by Gideon, the noted anthro-naughty-pics artist) - no naughty bits in the game. Yet another class & level, percentile skills hearthbreaker - but at least it got the better part of a dozen books out. And better, they're all in PDF. Arrowflight's the next one after, and it, too, has several supplements and is going into a 3rd edition.
