Message: <blockquote data-quote="malcolm_n" data-source="post: 5337864" data-attributes="member: 63154">Interesting idea I came up with today while I was bored at work.  I was thinking of how to give some characters easier options at low levels.  One issue is that of placing a 13+ in an otherwise throw away stat to get a feat.  My solution to this, imho, feels interesting and flexible.Improved Ability ScoreYou are stronger, tougher, faster, more intelligent, wise, or personable than anybody else you've encountered.Benefit:  Increase one ability score of your choice by +2.  You gain no increase to that ability score at 11th level or 21st level.Special:  You can choose this feat more than once.  Each time, you must choose a different ability score.So a character can take this feat to get a +1 to everything related to the stats of his choice, and by 21st level can trade it out for something else.  He doesn't have to wait for 8th level to get power attack, to begin multiclassing, or to be good at it.The other thing I came up with was the idea of shaking up the ideal race/class combos.  One interesting way to achieve this is through the racial anomaly background:Racial AnomalyYou are unusual.  Something about you just doesn't seem right.  The other members of your race can't deny that you're one of them, but they also probably don't readily welcome you into their homes.  What has brought about this difference in you?  Was there a problem at birth, or did you just develop differently than your peers?  Do you have others like you in your lineage, or is one of your parents not what others would commonly expect?Benefit:  When you take this background, you can choose any combination of two of your racial stats to increase by +2, so if you're a dwarf, you can increase two of your strength, constitution, or wisdom.I welcome constructive feedback and criticism <img src="https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/joypixels/assets/8.0/png/unicode/64/1f642.png" class="smilie smilie--emoji" loading="lazy" width="64" height="64" alt=":)" title="Smile    :)"  data-smilie="1"data-shortname=":)" />.</blockquote>
