Performance Increase

Please let me know if you notice a considerable performance increase at EN World. I set a certain option to "off" that EN World wasn't even using, and yet.... It was (I believe) creating a tremendous system drag. Essentially, every time a new post was made, the server was doing a search of all threads to find similar ones for linking... Yet EN World wasn't actually displaying them at all. Turning this to "off" i've noticed huge performance increases - and hopefully might stop the massive lag we've been experiencing.

Please let me know if you notice the improvement, or if it's just me!

Biggest thing I'm noticing is how much faster "Submitting" a message has become, and I think that really hit it on the head. And probably, so many new messages getting submitted at any one time, that's what was locking the whole system, and slowing it down.

Odds are, it has something to do with the search re-index that was recently done.

I thought that was turned off! Thanks Chris, that would DEFINIATELY have an effect since the reindexing will cause the old records of similar threads to be dumped.

Performance Increase! I knew if I diligently followed the instructions in those emails I would eventually gain that promised prowess! Huzzah!

You need to relabel that option to simply "LAG". So, from now on, you can just check to make sure you have LAG turned off.
