In the dream Peter Gabriel came onto a wooden stage. It was a very dark stage but in the background of the shadows you could see his band. they waited on him quietly. I knew he was gonna walk out onto the stage before he did, so I knew he was going to be the one to perform. I don't know why I dreamed of him as I haven't seen him or listened to his music in a very long time.</span></p><p> </p><p> <span style="font-family: 'Verdana'">The crowd was very noisy, and I think the audience may have been South African. I couldn't be sure because of the darkness, but it seemed like an outdoor amphitheatre at night.</span></p><p> </p><p> <span style="font-family: 'Verdana'">Gabriel walked out onto the stage. He was dressed in a long, tight, white robe which made him look much taller than normal. On the top of his head he wore a tall hat, the top of which was flat and wide, so that the entire thing look like a giant "T". (It reminded me of one of his crazier outfits from his early days with Genesis.)</span></p><p> </p><p> <span style="font-family: 'Verdana'">He cleared his throat and the crowd eventually fell silent. Then he bowed low, rose again, and said, "I will now sing you a song. I hope you don't mind if I begin at the chorus..."</span></p><p> </p><p> <span style="font-family: 'Verdana'">Then he began singing. He sang the first stanza a capella and then his band joined in. He sang for maybe five minutes and the music was very upbeat but the lyrics very unusual, even for Gabriel. </span></p><p> </p><p> <span style="font-family: 'Verdana'">When I awoke I realized Gabriel hadn't written the song, but I had. (In the dream Gabriel had written and sung the song but in real life I had written it, and Gabriel was the dream performer in my mind.) So I got up and went downstairs to my office and wrote out every stanza I could remember. the song went on much longer than what I could remember but I got down every line I could recall (which was forty lines - 10 stanzas).</span></p><p> </p><p> <span style="font-family: 'Verdana'">I know the music too, but I haven't had time to write that out yet, but I will tomorrow. It's in my head along with the instruments used. I call the song <em><strong>"Time Will Come."</strong></em></span></p><p> </p><p> <span style="font-family: 'Verdana'">I'll be sending the lyrics to some of you by email.</span></p><p> </p><p> <span style="font-family: 'Verdana'">But I'm also curious. Have any of you ever had a similar experience? Where you wrote a song, poem, or story in your dreams?
