[PGF] Spell Enhancer, Counterspell deterent?

Hmm, after looking at this spell, it seems a bit odd.

[ Sor/Wiz 4]
The result is the next spell you cast be harder to resist. After you cast this spell, you can cast another in the same round (as if it had been quickened) at +2 caster level.

Now some oddities.

1) It would effectively keep you from using other 'Free Action' spells in that round unless you have Quicken Mastery or whatever the feat from ELH is that lets you have multiple quickened spells in one round.

2) It also becomes impossible to counter the 'second' spell, unless you have reactive counterspelling (or similiar), due to the ready condition of "casting a spell" being triggered with the initial cast of Spell Enhancer.

Now for 2, you can counter the Spell Enhancer spell, and effectively keep the spellcaster from casting the 'follow up' spell (the quickened spellcast is an effect of the spell).

Now, I'm mostly curious if I interpreted the spell correctly in those regards :).
