He tried to present these new findings to the zoology department at the University of Chicago but was laughed out of the building. After a few weeks of soul searching and and contemplating a new career path, Dan received a letter from an anonymous benefactor who stated that this new information intrigued him and he would like for Dan to do more work for him. He offered to full fund Dan's explorations in exchange for access to all the data Dan would be collecting. Overjoyed, and with a new hope for his love of Cryptozoology, Dan dove back into his work of the unexplained. He has secured a position at the Field museum in Chicago in the zoology department and continues his life's work from there.</p><p> </p><p>He has isolated himself by voicing a passion for the search for animals that his peers said do not exist. He has become something of an oddity in his field and he is not popular with his fellow zoologists.
