He was privately home tutored as a boy, but went to the University of Chicago for his degree. Overjoyed, and with a new hope for his love of Cryptozoology, Dan dove back into his work of the unexplained. He has secured a position at the Field museum in Chicago in the zoology department and continues his life's work from there. He has isolated himself by voicing a passion for the search for animals that his peers said do not exist. He has become something of an oddity in his field and he is not popular with his fellow zoologists.
