Yay dialup! Apologies for length of post, but you asked some serious questions... :-) Nekokaburi raises both forearms to fend off Gustaf's probing attack. As Gustaf's lightning washes over his toughened limbs, he talks through gritted teeth, lightning leaping from his forearms to the swamp about him, hissing and spitting. Steam begins to rise from his arms. "Talent? Training? These are one and the same. What talent a warrior is born with is worthless without dedication. A warrior must live each day as though already dead, and without fear of death, excel. " Nekokaburi pushes forward with his forearms, gaining several steps and forcing the dragon-like lightning back. The samurai speaks clearer now. "I was trained in the Way of the Sword by my father Ujimitsu, who taught me his secret and powerful Mournful Crane techniques. I have developed my own Blackfist style of fighting through a neverending search for perfection, and I learnt much of the way of unarmed combat from the Iron Abbot, who I spent several years with." "Many winters have passed while I have trained in the fighting arts, Gustaf-san, so do not be surprised that you find my Blackfist Style a worthy challenge. But I am disappointed that you bring these spells against me - no magic can burn with the fury of one man's soul!" While Gustaf draws his chi inward, Nekokaburi seizes the moment and charges forward and low, no longer resisting the flow of lightning that bursts outward above him. Nekokaburi drops to the ground at the last moment, sliding into Gustaf in a shower of mud, legs scissoring in an attempt to fling his opponent to the ground. The weasel vanquishes the tombs; dominates the terror of the flame! "What of you, Gustaf? Where did you learn these sorcerous tricks, and what have they to do with your ancestral blade?" LOL - with a FoF, you could put together one confused bird with that hand...
