Phoenix - Has this monster been published?

Hey everyone,

I wanted to know if this monster, the Phoenix, has been published - WOTC or 3rd party publisher?

I don't have access to a MM II to check it, but if anyone could tell me if this creature has been published, I would greatly appreciate it!

Thanks,

I think it makes an appearance in the upcoming Monster Manual 2. Either that, or the ENWorld-published Fiend Folio (or whatever it's called). But I'm sure it's in the MM2. I remember (possibly falsely) seeing the image.

The Phoenix has made an appearance in Green Ronin's Book of the Righteous, IIRC.

Yup. Though Scott Green is credited with is, so I imagine it is the same or similar to the one in the Creature Catalog.

I believe the first appearance of the Phoenix was in TSR's 1ed Deities and Demigods where it appeared in the Egyptian pantheon. It appeared again shortly thereafter in 1ed Monster Manual II.

The Phoenix was present in 2ed as well, although I only remember it in the Monstrous Manual and not in the original Monstrous Compendium (although it may have shown up in the Outer Planes MC).

The first 3ed version of the Phoenix I saw was at the Creature Catalog. They didn't scrimp with it at all. And Khan is correct, the Phoenix appears in a published book, the recent (and excellent) Book of the Righteous.

I hear that the new "official" Phoenix is really powerful. I can't wait!
