OK, We started an Eberron game a while back (start of summer?) and had a new person DM. Game was a lot of fun, though we had people come-and-go so much that we could only play once or twice a month. Now the DM is moving (went from deciding to move his family of 5 to actually moving in less than a week!) and we like our characters enough to not want to start over. So.... we are thinking of rotating DMs for a bit with the same PCs. And I need help with coming up with a plot. There may be some spoilers here as I think the DM was using modules for insperation, though Party is level 4. We have: Teltruide: Talenta halfing warrior (fighter 1, ranger 1, barb 2) (going dragonmark heir next level) Ollad: Human fighter3 barb1. Has a least dragonmark . ????: Human Wu-jen 3 monk 1 (I think that's right) Linda Tyrell (LT): Human Bard 4 ????: Dwarf Warlock 3 (NPC). The party is a day into a cave system searching for dragonshards. After a few misc. encounters, including a Dolgaunt monk who fled, we found a group of orcs with whom we formed a truce. They sold us the dwarven warlock whose party was also searching for dragonshards some days back when they got killed/seperated by something. I don't think we know what (it was a reason to get a visitor into the game for one session). The orcs pointed us to a group of dolgaunt monks. Teltrude, hating abberations, got the party to seek out and destroy the monks, leaving one PC dead (not listed above). Futher exporations yielded staff/rod that has fire markings on one end, cold marking on the other and it radiates strong evocation magic. During that time another member of the Dwarf's party shows up (the Wu-jen/monk) after wondering the caves for a week (a replacement for the dead PC). On the way out, orcs reported that there are two people in the cave system looking for us (warforged and human female). No clue who they are. Relationship with the orcs is on a cash-basis (they like us as we pay them for things). They'd probably kill us if they thought they could safely do so. So this is where the party is. What I'm looking for is a plot which: * Gets Teltrude (my PC) and probably the warlock out of the party (I don't like playing "party member" PCs if I can help it). * Makes some degree of rational sense and takes off nicely from where we are. What I really want is a good reason for Teltrude and the warlock to go. If we leave the cave system that can make sense (the warlock goes his own way, Teltrude gets summoned by his house (he plays a minor but real role in Talenta for his house)). But I'd like the rest of the party to stay in the cave system if I can find a good reason to split the party... Thoughts? Mark
