Message: <blockquote data-quote="Silver Moon" data-source="post: 1341991" data-attributes="member: 8530">I found the review to be right on.    As for the films, I really enjoyed the Genesis Trilogy (II to IV), thought VI was okay and a good sendoff for the original cast, and like most people thought First Contact was fantastic.  As for the others:Star Trek: The Motion Picture left a lot to be desired, but also has its good points too.  Hey, we got our Star Trek back!  That alone was worth something.Star Trek V was bad, but I'll recommend reading Shatner's "Captains Log" about the making of it, which illustrates how Paramont's accountants screwed it up as much as the writer/director/lead actor  (the book also gives background on various scenes, which makes them more watchable as you look for things other than the weak story).Star Trek: Generations also had a weak story, but also had enough new and interesting parts to it to keep you watching it.   Okay, the scene on the holodeck sailing ship was silly, but didn't they look great in those uniforms!  And that crash scene is riviting.Star Trek: Insurrection actually holds up better on reviewing, and actually works much better on the smaller screen.  As a movie it doesn't really measure up to movie standards, but it you take it as a long TNG television episode it's not that bad. With Star Trek: Nemesis, however, there are no such excuses for.   I still can't believe they cut out almost all of the wedding scene, filled with cameos from TNG that the fans would have loved, in order to fit in more scenes of Shizon talking to his Reman assiastant.  I consider this to be the worst of all the films.  I saw it the weekend it came out and told my friends not to bother.  It's the only Trek film I haven't bought a home copy of.</blockquote>
