Pimp my runestaff!

Gnometown Hero
I'm considering commissioning a custom runestaff for my gnome illusionist/bard/paragon. He has a relatively low amount of spells he can cast a day, although his illusion spells are pretty potent, especially once he gets to sixth level, when he starts on the master specialist prestige class.

I'm thinking he either needs a staff full of utility spells or one full of illusion spells. In each case, he'd be best off if many of the spells are on both the illusionist (restricted schools: evocation and necromancy) and bard spell lists, although sticking cure light wounds in the staff would also work, since it would allow him to grab other bard spells in his last gnome paragon levels.

What would you put in such a staff? Each spell in a runestaff can be used up to three times a day. This is a pbp game, so he will be a relatively low character for a pretty long time, so lower level spells are better than higher level ones. He also won't be picking up any more bard levels after the first, making him the equivalent of a bard 3 for spells once he's maxed out his gnome paragon class.

Your suggestions are eagerly appreciated.

I'd start with magic missile, ray of enfeeblement, entangle... wait. That's wrong.

What level Illusionist are you?

Cheers, -- N

First level illusionist until he gets through gnome paragon, then he will be gaining illusionist spellcasting from then on, via master specialist. (He also has practiced spellcaster, before anyone winces at the effect all this has had on the character's spellcasting. It's all about being the gnomiest of gnomes.)

But I'm also looking ahead to the future. So say 0-1 level bard spells and 0-2 illusionist spells (and maybe one level 3).
