Pirate Borg -- any of you scurvy dogs have it?

I think it can quickly get out of hand, changing the tone of a campaign to one that some groups may not want.

I think once I have a Dark Caribbean campaign going in the future, I'll make it available to players whose initial -- more grounded -- characters die, rather than opening the flood gates on day one.
Yeah. That’s a good point. A ghost of a dead PC would be fine by me. It’s the mermaids and talking animals that seem to cross the line.

My talking parrot (in @Whizbang Dustyboots PBP game) makes sad squawking noises.
An undead talking parrot? The mermaid has an undead talking parrot that allows her to talk to animals (alive or dead) that has come in handy on a couple of occasions.

I think I like all of the crazy items and a large part of the fun was the completely random character creation. I ended up rolling an ex-nurse who has the enmity of a powerful pirate whose favourite meal is rat. I'm also a crack shot with the musket and really need to keep out of the frontlines to make better use of it.
