Do you like to read?

So maybe you remember me from D&D 3.5 with such books as The Book of Exalted Deeds, a couple of Forgotten Realms sourcebooks, and a whole slew of D20 products. I admit, I'm not around much anymore. Facebook is more or less where I live these days, and for the past two years, I'd been working on a video game - maybe you've heard of R.A. Salvatore's Kingdoms of Amalur?

Well, the game studio went under, so to stay busy I've started an episodic fiction line. I'm not going to leave you with a big wall of text here explaining all the nuances of it, so if you want to read that, just head on over to my blog and check out the last couple posts here: Blog Darrin Drader.com

The first two installments of the series are up for sale now at Amazon.com:

Or, you can look them up at DrivethruRPG/Drivethru Fiction/RPGNow where you'll find them for a dollar less than that. You'll have to transfer the files to your reader yourself if you buy there, but the Drivethru price reduction is temporary, and it's there because of Amazon's pricing policies. I also wanted to give my friends from the RPG community the opportunity to get the best deal on them first. The current plan is for new titles to run at $1.99 for two weeks, then go up to $2.99.

Thanks for tolerating the blatant self promotion, and if you have any comments or questions, please post.

That sucks to hear about the studios, that game was great and I thought it was going to be an awesome IP to build off of.

Good luck!

Indeed, aside from the fact that they'd been hinted at before in previous FR products, the Sarrukh were my creation (with, I might add, oversight from the RPG R&D department). I'm still pretty proud of that piece, though I'd do a massive revision if I had the chance. ;)

Awesome! Pun-pun is up there on my RPG entertainment list with the Head of Vecna.

I also might have had something to do with the 3rd edition Death Knight, and then I followed that up with the Pathfinder Graveknight, which is, as far as I'm concerned, the superior version of that particular adversary.

Drader: More Oathbound, please. :)

On that point, I'd have to refer you to Greg Dent and Todd Morasch, who own Epidemic Press, the current publishers of Oathbound. While I'd love to write more Oathbound material (if I could find the time for it, ironically enough), it's their world and I haven't heard plans for anything new beyond Oathbound Seven. Personally, I'd love to see the last three domains detailed.

I remember the cardinal rule about rep comments (or XP comments, as they are here) is that you don't talk about rep comments. Of course, that was back when I cared about the messageboard rep system. Nevertheless, I'm really grateful that so many of you have welcomed me back. Since I have some time on my hands, I'll be poking my head in here a little more often.

And on a completely different note, I'll be highly grateful to anyone who writes reviews for any of my fiction. I have no reason to complain about sales, so I know it's getting out there, but it's been light in the feedback department so far.
