Where is there a conflict between what I write for my personal game and what they write as official? Show me just one conflict that would cause them to get rid of the idea of official canon. First, that doesn't change with their announcement. D&D products put out by WotC are official products whether they are canon or not, so anyone who has that issue still has it now. Second, that has nothing to do with their reasoning in that post, which was to not burden their partners with canon and a bunch of talk about what we do in our personal games which has nothing to do with official canon. I am. It's nonsensical when I look at it from their perspective. Their stated reasoning makes no sense. Personal changes have nothing to do with canon and despite what you say above, there is no conflict that could cause issues with either WotC's further releases or somethin you put out for DMsguild. At least none that are avoidable by removing canon. I am VERY good at putting myself into the shoes of others. I've been practicing that since I was very little. When I look at it from their perspective the reason that makes sense is that they(and those that work for them) don't want to have to put in the extra work to make sure that they aren't contradicting canon. By removing canon they don't have to worry about that and folks can contradict what is written to their heart's content. They are trying to save time, and therefore money. It's all about the bottom line.
