Planescape conversions – tell me what you want! There are a whole lot of Planescape monsters that are not yet in 3E. yeah, I know a lot of these things have been converted by other people so don’t bother telling me – I want my own versions. :D besides, planewalker.com and ps3e.com have been down for months. Ok, tell me what you want to see the most, and that’s what I’ll do. I’m going to start off with the monsters from the boxed set booklets. Despite their descriptions, these monsters are (probably) all Outsiders, as they all come from the outer planes. These are the creatures I’m thinking about working on (let me know if they’re in an official WotC product already, or on their website): Planescape boxed set: Cranium Rats: vermin that serve the mind flayer god Ilsenine. Communal intelligence: the more there are, the smarter they get, and more powerful (spellcasting, mind blast, immunities). Nic’Epona: magical horses that ride the Outlands. Can cause a stampede, and can plane shift and ride on any surface. Spirit of the Air: flying monkey-creatures that serve the gods of the winds. Originally from 1E Deities and Demigods. Planes of Chaos set: Asrai: tiny fey-like water sprites. They hypnotise seagoers, and melt in the sunlight. Bacchae: mad revelers from Arborea that tear up everything they meet, and you may be forced to join them… Chaos Imp: basically what it sounds like. They can merge with your items and cause chaos around you wherever you go. Fensir: Asgardian trolls. They live in the highlands, and are more like giants than trolls. Murska: beetle monsters than can take the skin and intelligence of their last kill. Oread: mountain dryads, basically. Varrangoin: abyssal bats. 8 types of them, each with different powers. Planes of Law set: Busen: guardians of Arcadia. They are black and somewhat amorphous, and can shapechange. Gear spirits: little mechanical beings that maintain the cogs of Mechanus. They can control machines, and weaken armor. Zoveri: celestial tauric squid beings from the 7 Heavens of Mount Celestia. They were originally in MC8. Planes of Conflict set: Aeserpent: gargantuan snake from the Beastlands. Hunts at night, when it is invisible. Asuras: celestials that serve as messengers for the gods. Originally from Al-Qadim. Buraq: horse-like creatures with human heads that can cast Time Stop on its rider. Also from Al-Qadim. Delphon: fish with a powerful song, can also plane shift at will through the great River Oceanus. Diakk: evil bird-men from the Gray Waste of Hades. Were they converted already? Originally from the old MM2. Ethyk: small mammalian creatures that are easily domesticated, and can cause other creatures to become enraged at other creatures to protect itself. Gautiere: tall nomadic humanoids from Carceri with an acid touch. Linqua: small humanoids from Gehenna with rogue abilities. Ni’iath: flying fish-like creatures that can fling their opponents for 100 feet. Phiuhl: mist like creatures with energy drain powers and poisonous vapors. Quesar: celestial creatures that wield power to blind, burn, and disintegrate. Slasrath: flying horrors that serve as yugoloth mounts, and slash and strike with poisonous stingers. Warden Beast: animal spirits of the Beastlands (probably be a template) that serve as stewards and guardians for an animal type. Yugoloth, Baernaloth: yeah, I know you guys want me to do this one! Yugoloth outcasts that are suspected to be the progenitors of their race. I will get to the three Planescape MC’s as soon as I can. :)
