Dark Sun doesn't effect your game and table unless you play there, but the rules for a race do. (I cannot speak for the majority of new players, but if they approach this matter similarly to how I do, the backlash against a Dark Sun book should be minimal enough to not change anything overly significant about the setting.)</blockquote>
