And i should also say i've played 1st and 2nd edition, so i'm not a total newb. ;-)Anyway, there were three of us, with one DM controlled character to beef up the ranks (the character was a wizard/cleric/loremaster btw). We were all starting at 10th level.I decided to go with a straight human fighter to get used to things, and i felt like dishing out some damage. Other party members were a straight rogue, and some crazy multiclass, i don't remember exactly, but it was something like barb/ranger/fighter/shadowdancer/duelist. I decided to take a mercurial greatwsord from S&F and took the appropriate feats for it (focus, specialization, and improved crit). Naturally i got the keen enchantment. I also had some fullplate of speed which was nice lemme tall ya. <img src="https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/joypixels/assets/8.0/png/unicode/64/1f642.png" class="smilie smilie--emoji" loading="lazy" width="64" height="64" alt=":)" title="Smile    :)"  data-smilie="1"data-shortname=":)" />We start playing in the Forgotten Realms and we end up escorting some nobleman from a madeup town i forget the name of to Calmishan. Not too long into the trip and we're ambushed by a couple of fog giants. I wade right in. Lucky me, i'm rolling like a demon, getting 18's, 19's, and 20's all over the place. I crit these giants to death inside of two rounds. The rogue instantly went to hide, and i assume he was intending to sneak attack, but he never got the chance. the DM character cast sanctuary on himself and jumped in the fray to run interference for me. This worked out good since i was beat up a bit from the AOO's of the giants i charged, and by the end of those two rounds i was getting pretty low on HP.So we soldier on, and during the week long trip, we have one of our horses crushed by a boulder, take out some medusas roaming the desert, and kill a mind flayer who ambushed us overnight when we camped at some illusory oasis. I have to say, i really felt good having taken that Iron Will feat after the mind flayer battle.Hoping to play again soon, maybe later this week. I can't wait to bum around Calimport for a while.
