After being here for only a week or so I'd like to know what type of player you see yourself as?

Personally I think, from what I've seen, that 3e rules have great scope for in-depth roleplayers ... BUT, in doing this, have a even greater scope for power gamers, min/maxers etc...

Be brutally honest with yourselves!

Well...I'm almost entirely a roleplayer, prefering to talk rather than fight, and I'd rather have political intrigue than a generic dungeon-crawl. But nevertheless, when it comes to stats and stuff, roleplaying usually doesn't stop me min/maxing. :)

I power game, I role play, I roll play and sometimes I can get carried away and be a munchie. Depends on character I play, my mood and what the GM presents for possibilities. I mean hey- if he offers a +10 sword to my 2nd level character I can't resist

in this case i would sell the sword and give the proceeds to the poor.

OR

a +10 weapon at 2nd lvl would have too many powerful enemies looking for it. so i'd just trade it in for a normal weapon and point the new owner out if anyone asked.

so what kind of player am i?

I think that if you're gonna include Munchkin, then you should inlcude the player on the other end of the spectrum: The Drama Queen. :D

Anyways, I don't know if I really fit into any single category. I like choosing effective feats, weapons and armor, and generally optimizing my character for combat, so I'm a powergamer in that respect. But I also have fun with roleplaying aspects as well, and I've enjoyed sessions we've had where we didn't have any combat at all.

So, I just chose powergamer.

As with the others above, I believe it is difficult not to be a power gamer, at least a little bit. I love the story within the game and rate role playing very high, but the very nature of the d20 rules is for the power gamer. First, you set a bunch of rules and then you create feats to break the rules.
