I found some easier to work with than others. In the Animated Disagreement, where the audience poses the "challenges", @thefutilist made us explain how the other position has merit and is worth real consideration. That wasn't easy to do while remaining true to Soni as a character, as she didn't think there was much merit in Sir Gilroy's position! When Meeting Sword to Sword, after three "leading questions" have been asked, "closing questions are permitted". I had the fourth question, but none of the closing questions seemed like something I could authentically ask:
» You get your sword’s point well between us, inside my guard. If you drive it home, you kill me. Do you drive it home, or do you allow me to step back and recover myself? » I get my sword’s point high up under your chin. Do you submit or flee? » You knock my sword rattling out of my hand. Do you allow me to recover it, or must I submit? » I pierce your side, but in so doing leave myself open to a return stroke. Do you deliver it? » I seize momentum and initiative and drive you backward. If you stand, throw. On heads, you hold me back; on tails, I cut you through, killing you. Do you stand, or do you allow yourself to be driven?
Which is why @thefutilist got the last question in our duel, and Carda was able to force Soni over the cliff. In the Chase, Carda was the quarry so I just had to respond to questions, which was easy. And the Conversation over Food also was easy. And I found the Solitaires really helpful. I think I played more Solitaires than the others, and - as I tried to convey in my post - these helped me understand the situation and what Soni was looking for out of it.
