Well, at least it's back online now.

I haven't checked if I works for me or not, but I'm positive it will.

Has the Xbox network been hacked before? You think that it would have considering that Microsoft is a favorite target.

Certainly nothing so major.

But then Microsoft may have been too busy dealing with the red ring of death to piss off any hackers.

Understood. The RRoD is why I bought a PS3 (that and it has Blu-Ray). Maybe MS will have the last laugh if this new PSN upgrade gets hacked again.

The newer models have address this to the point where they're a more normal failure rate (from what I've read).

Maybe MS will have the last laugh if this new PSN upgrade gets hacked again.

On a wide scale I'd say this is significantly worse, but on an individual scale the RRoD is worse, and having had my PS3 die on me, being without it for over a month was much worse than having no online (which I wouldn't have cared about at all if it wasn't preventing me from getting my PC version of Portal 2 and playing co-op).
