But the thing they have in common is I don't want to be manipulated, whether magically, or nonmagically.Even then, I recently posted an amendment to my position in post #344, clarifying that most magics are reasonably usable when fighting for one's life against an enemy, but what matters is using magic on innocents or those who don't mean you harm. Enchantment-users often think they are being soft, kind, or nonviolent when charming or dominating others, but that only matters when you don't want to kill an enemy/villain. But if you use it on an innocent, there is no question in my mind that you're being a villain yourself, no different than if you fireballed them. Murder is not the only unforgivable trespass.</blockquote>
