The people at rpgtonight.com are in the early stages of developing a real time online tabletop style "living game." This game will be a weekly online session in which potentially hundreds of gamers and GMs will all play and interact with one another in a persistant world. The GMs, as well as the players, will be playing against and in cooperation with one another in a unique way.
At this stage, we need lots of players and GMs to help us test the basic rules and game playing protocol that will allow different players and groups of players being run by different GMs to interact with one another. Playtesting sessions will be short, but interesting and different. We won't be testing combat rules and things like that - in fact for testing we'll use ordinary 3e rules. What we'll be testing are such things as rules of play covering things like what happens when two groups of players run by two GMs come into contact, where the two players groups could be either hostile or seeking cooperation from one another, and the GMs could also be hostile or cooperating - perhaps at cross purposes to the players - or what happens when a GM runs a player's group that is opposing the GM's interests in the game - and thus has a legitimate reason to go for TPK, but under strict rules designed to keep everything fair.
Playtesting will occur on the rpgtonight.com website itself. This is a free online "virtual tabletop" with all the features necessary to play a tabletop style game online (die rollers, map display, miniatures (thumbnail pictures), text and voicechat, etc.).
If interested please either reply here, email me at admin@rpgtonight.com, or go to www.rpgtonight.com , sign on to the forums, and leave a message in the appropriate thread in the Games/GMs/Players section.
Thanks,
The Hound
