Playtesting - how involved might it be?

I'm pretty sure no one will be able to answer my question definitively, but I'm wondering if anyone has any sense of how the playtesting will work? Specifically, it seems like it could run on a scale from just bits and pieces to a full-blown adventure path with an "alpha" Player's Handbook; my guess is somewhere in-between.

The reason I ask is that I'm working on a new campaign to start in 2-3 months. I think the 5E playtest starts around then (all we have heard is "spring", afaik). I'm looking at Pathfinder adventure paths in a homebrew world and am dabbling with trying Pathfinder out (I've never played it and haven't played 3.x since 2003-04), but plan on playing 5E when it comes out.

So my options would either be:
1) Run Pathfinder until 5E comes out (presumably no later than GenCon 2013), or
2) Use the 5E playtest for the campaign, possibly "enhanced" with Pathfinder and/or 4E, especially if 5E is as modular as they claim it will be.

Any thoughts?
