The Giant Hulk This prestige class first came about when the dwarven berserker Brikar Stoneheart lost a duel with a giant. He blamed his loss on his lack of size and so became jealous of anyone who was taller than him. He set out to make himself larger, and the result of this quest for knowledge is this prestige class. This class is ideally suited for fighters and barbarians who like to dabble a little bit in magic or psionics. However, it is not unknown for high level clerics or psychic warriors to take this class as well. Hit Dice: d8 Prerequisites: Feats: Monkey Grip (any weapon), Toughness BAB: +4 Special: Ability to cast the spells Enlarge or Righteous Might, or manifest the Expansion power. Level BAB Fort Ref Will Special 1 +0 +2 +0 +0 Ability Bonuses 2 +1 +3 +0 +0 Ability Bonuses 3 +2 +3 +1 +1 Ability Bonuses 4 +3 +4 +1 +1 Ability Bonuses 5 +4 +4 +1 +1 Bonus Feat, Growth Penalties 6 +5 +5 +2 +2 Ability Bonuses 7 +6 +6 +2 +2 Ability Bonuses 8 +6 +6 +2 +2 Ability Bonuses 9 +7 +7 +3 +3 Ability Bonuses 10 +8 +7 +3 +3 Giant Metamophosis Class Features: Weapon and Armor Proficiency: Hulks gain no new weapon or armor proficiencies. Ability Bonuses: The Hulk gains 1/8 of all ability bonuses listed on the table on page 12 of the Monster Manual. For example: A level 1 medium sized Hulk (going to size large) has +1 to strength. At second level, he gains and additional +1 to strength and +1 to constitution (bringing him to +2 strength and +1 con). At fourth level, he would have bonuses +4 to strength, +2 to constitution, and +1 to natural AC. Bonus Feat: The Hulk gains the feat Dwarves’ Toughness, Giant’s Toughness, or Dragon’s Toughness for free (whichever one he can qualify for). Growth Penalties: The Hulk gains a –2 penalty to dexterity (if listed on the table) and a –1 penalty to hit and to AC. Giant Metamorphosis: Upon gaining level 10, the Hulk can undergo a 1-week long slumber. The Hulk does not undergo the sleep immediately, but may choose to undergo this sleep any time prior to the advancement to his next level. During this sleep, the Hulk cannot be waken by anything short of a wish. Upon completion of his slumber, the Hulk has increased one size category. He gains all benefits of the new size category (using larger weapons, greater threat area, etc.). The growth doubles the height of the character and quadruples his body weight. He also becomes type Giant. Epic Level options: For epic levels, simply repeat the progression for the next size category. In addition, the character my take Epic Toughness as the 5th level bonus feat if he qualifies.
