I'm mulling over an idea for a low paragon / high heroic tier solo monster. My general idea is that it would be something akin to a purple worm, or a long thin dragon, but rather than being a 2x2 or 3x3 square creature, it would be represented by perhaps 6 squares in a line. This would allow it to literally snake across the battle mat, rather than having to sit coiled up. Different parts of it might have separate functions, and separate actions to do them with.
I am thinking that one square would be the head which could take actions for attacks, another would be the tail with separate actions for its attacks, and the body would have actions for movement.
I can see all sorts of problems if the pcs apply push pull slide type effects to it, but what i want to try to achieve is the mechanical effect of maybe three decent monsters in one body.
I am not at the stage of statting it up yet, but i can see bite attacks, breath weapons, tail slaps and rolling over people as a starting point.
Has anyone tried anything similar or got thought on how it might work in practice?
