The Psionic version, as I mentioned before, is a lot more fun. First, because it's just first in a Feat chain that leads to some really cool stuff, and second because Astral Constructs are artificial to begin with (see next point). One problem I have with Augment Summoning is how it doesn't make sense on a conceptual level. When I cast Summon Monster, I'm not creating a new creature; I'm pulling an existing creature from another plane, to temporarily do my bidding. How exactly does a Feat I take cause that other creature to be stronger? Okay, it's being "magically enhanced", like if I cast Aid or Bless on it, but I'm not casting a second spell, this is a Feat we're talking about. It just seems somehow wrong. Augmenting a nonliving construct you formed from Astral ectoplasm makes sense. Augmenting someone who lives on another plane, though? (Hmm, adventure concept: the PCs are repeatedly summoned by a spellcaster on another plane, and used as cannon fodder. Every few days, no matter what they were doing at the time, they get pulled into the middle of a big battle, like maybe the Blood War, fight for a round or two before dying painfully, repeat. The adventure is them trying to stop the guy who keeps casting the spell.)
