I played one of these in a TT campaign, went into it from a half-orc cleric (LN) of Hextor, and it was sweet. Strength boost and Strength domain together is nice, and buffing spells with the combat bonuses of the class mesh nicely. Lose a little in higher-spells, but gain a lot in roleplaying.

Would've been nice if the DM didn't single him out for an assassination while he was asleep... was the only party member doing anything productive in the party....

I give it a 6, mostly for flavor. The characters most suited to enter the class from an rp perspective, clerics, lose out because of the loss of their higher-level spells. But I still think it's pretty worth it.

I've adapted them in my game as well.

It's very simple but effective PrC. Only three different abilities, but all are pretty effective. It's good PrC for all those charging barbarians and fighters who prefer straight close combat without fancy moves.

In my campaign it sees a lot of use by NPC's and by a surprising amount of LN PC's. Although they have only 3 abilities they are all quite good, for a stand up fighter. I've played one myself, and it was damn fun to play a templar of an evil god. It would even adapt well to FR use as a Fist of Bane as mentioned above.

I gave it a 7.
