Plot Help - The Hag & the Assasin...

A group of nobles including a younger son of its king from a distant country (think Poland to France type 'distant') is visiting the land of the PCs.

Anyway a doppleganger assasin follows the nobles from their country and kills the prince taking his place (PCS don't know this yet).
The doppleganger however is seen by a hag who has her own grudge against the PCs and thus threatens to reveal the dopplegangers actions unless he also kills the PCs. He tries but fails and the PCs now think that the foreign pince tried to kill them but don't know why

The PCs thus follow back to the princes last confirmed camp

Anyway what I need is ideas of - what the PCs will find at the camp giving clues about the assasin, the dead prince and the hag?.

The Hag lives nearby in a hidden cave with its own secret - what is the Hags secret? What is in her cave?

Yes now all under arrest until the prince is found - they denied any knowledge of the Princes actions and have no idea of his current whereabouts. They revealed where their last camp had been but the PCs didn't ask anymore questions before deciding to investigate the campsite...

Ah! Then when the doppelganger gets back to camp, he gets out of sight and takes on the shape of a royal stable boy - "left there to guard the camp." The "serving boy" said that the prince came through and headed right up to a nearby cave. "He was acting very odd - mumbling to himself, he was."

The PCs go to the cave and hopefully kill the hag. The doppelganger grabs valuables and gets the heck out of dodge, only to return at a later date.
